We are proud to offer our fellows a comprehensive Pulmonary Fellowship recruitment curriculum that caters to a wide range of patients in both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings. The educational experiences in this fellowship span across the state of New York at several renowned institutions. This approach ensures our fellows are well-prepared for their careers in the field.

The Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship at Upstate Medical University is a distinguished program that emphasizes clinical experience, research, and leadership skills in the field of pulmonary and critical care medicine. The fellowship program seeks to equip physicians with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in diagnosing, managing, and researching complex pulmonary conditions and acute multi-systemic diseases. The training environment encourages fellows to develop a comprehensive understanding of the diverse range of pulmonary and critical health cases they may see in their future patients.

The three-year program is designed to provide an optimal balance between clinical rotations, research opportunities, and didactic sessions. The clinical experience encompasses a wide range of conditions, including acute respiratory distress syndrome, severe sepsis, COPD, pulmonary hypertension, and interstitial lung disease. Simultaneously, fellows are encouraged to engage in meaningful research projects under the guidance of experienced mentors, fostering a groundwork for evidence-based practice. The ultimate goal of the fellowship is to prepare future leaders in the field, capable of delivering superior patient care while making significant contributions to pulmonary and critical care medicine.
