Previous Research Retreats

Since 2022, the Department of Medicine has hosted an annual Research Retreat featuring presentations from faculty and trainees in the Department of Medicine as well as across the institution. Oral presentations include DOM grant awardees from the previous year, as well as a keynote presentation from internationally recognized clinician-scientists. Faculty and trainees from all divisions in the DOM are strongly encouraged to contribute. Original research, quality initiatives, innovations in medical education, and case reports are considered for presentation.

2nd Annual Research Retreat: September 30th, 2023

  • The event featured research projects by junior faculty, fellows, residents, and medical students affiliated with the Department of Medicine. Each abstract was presented in poster form to allow for project-related discussion between the authors and any attendee. This was unique opportunity for clinical investigators and trainees to meet and discuss collaborative efforts leading to new discoveries on the causes, diagnosis, and treatment of the broadest range of disorders managed by the Department of Medicine.

1st Annual Research Retreat: October 1st, 2022

  • The program was prepared by Dr. Andras Perl and Rosa Trpcevski with input from the Department of Medicine Research Council (Drs. Ruth Weinstock, Elizabeth Asiago- Reddy, Housam Hegazy, Markus Gutsche, Debanik Chaudhuri, Savio John) and Chief Residents (Drs. Christina DiCorato, Sonica Patel, and Rachael Proumen).
