Infectious Disease Associates

Physicians’ Office Building

The helpful providers and staff at Infectious Disease Associates welcome your call and look forward to serving you. Our providers are associated with the Department of Medicine at SUNY: Upstate Medical University.

Infectious Disease Associates features an expanded outpatient clinic, complete with an updated infusion suite. Expedited outpatient consultations are available for intravenous (IV) antibiotic therapy for infectious diseases – instead of having to be admitted to a hospital.

Our infusion suite provides services that prevent hospital/ER readmission, such as:

  • Peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line placement and evaluation
  • PICC line care and dressing changes
  • Patient teaching
  • Peripheral IV line
  • Cathflo hydration
  • First dose of new IV antibiotics
  • On-site infusion (7 days/week)
  • Antibiotic drug challenges
  • Nursing care
  • Evaluation and treatment by an infectious disease specialist

Conditions treated with IV antibiotic infusions include:

  • Bacteremia endocarditis
  • Brain abscess
  • Encephalitis
  • Epidural abscess
  • Hardware infection
  • Intra-abdominal infection/abscess
  • Liver abscess
  • Lyme disease
  • Meningitis
  • Osteomyelitis
  • Pneumonia/lung abscess
  • Septic arthritis
  • Skin/soft tissue infection
  • Wound infection

New patient appointments are made through a physician referral.
